Our advanced CNC machining centers are capable of achieving high levels of precision to meet diverse project needs. While we can consistently hold a standard CNC machine accuracy of ±0.005 inches (±0.13 mm), our high-performance machines and expert machinists frequently work with much tight tolerances, reaching down to ±0.0005 inches (±0.012 mm) or better for critical applications. The final precision depends on factors like part geometry, material type, and the specific machining processes employed.

To validate these dimensions, our quality assurance program utilizes a wide array of metrology equipment. For standard checks, we use calibrated digital calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges. For complex geometries and the tightest tolerances, our lab is equipped with advanced precision inspection instruments, including a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) that provides detailed, multi-point verification against the original CAD model, as well as optical comparators for verifying profiles and surface features.

Implications of High Precision & Advanced Inspection

Pros:

  • Ensures parts function correctly in critical assemblies and high-performance applications.
  • Provides full traceability and documented verification with detailed CMM reports.
  • Reduces the risk of assembly failures, saving time and cost in later production stages.

Cons:

  • Achieving ultra-high precision can increase machining time and overall part cost.
  • Comprehensive CMM inspection for every part may extend the lead time for large batches.

How We Do It We match each project to the appropriate machine and inspection level. After production, our quality team uses a combination of hand-held metrology tools for basic dimensions and advanced CMM programs for critical features to conduct a thorough final inspection.

Expected Outcome This robust process ensures you receive parts that are not just manufactured to spec, but are also fully verified and documented, guaranteeing their quality and conformity.
